Second spell as Tranmere manager. After his year in Dundee, Mellon returned to Tranmere Rovers for a second spell as manager. Despite a strong start to the season, Mellon was sacked by Tranmere on 19 March 2023 following a 3-1 defeat to Newport County which left the club 14th in League Two.
