Multiple authentic hadiths show that the Prophet (ﷺ) performed the funeral prayers (Arabic: صلاة الجنازة, salat al-janaza) in absentia on Armah the Negus (Arabic: النجاشي أصحمة بن أبجر, Al-Najashi), the king of Abyssinia (Arabic: الحبشة) during the time of the first and second hijra to Abyssinia.

Abyssinia was a described as a land where no one was oppressed and this is what prompted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to encourage Muslims to migrate there.
