Born on December 24, 1918, Stern will celebrate his 105th birthday this year. Stern knew he wanted to attend West Point by age 12, and after graduating from high school at 16, attended a one-year prep school.

Born on March 9, 1918, Phillips celebrated his 105th birthday this year. Phillips entered the Academy in 1936 from Denver, Colorado during the Great Depression.
