It just has such an optimistic tone that’s absent from most films, and it’s a nice change of pace. Based on articles I’ve read, it’s also surprisingly historically accurate. One thing I find interesting that’s not mentioned in the movie is that War Admiral’s sire/father was Sea Biscuit’s grandsire/grandfather, meaning that War Admiral was technically Sea Biscuit’s uncle.
