Ross was one of Canada's most respected writers, in particular for his acclaimed novel, As for me and my House. Shortly after Ross was born, his family separated, and "Jimmy" was raised by his mother.

25 de jul. de 2012 · Sinclair Ross was born on a homestead near Shelbrooke in northern Saskatchewan in 1908. He dropped out of school after grade eleven to work in a bank. After working in many small-town bankds in Saskatchewan, he transferred to a bank in Winnipeg in 1933. In 1941 he puiblished his first novel, As for Me and My House.
30 de jun. de 2002 · Ross attended school in Indian Head, Saskatchewan, leaving after Grade 11 to work in a bank. He worked as a bank teller in the small Saskatchewan towns of Abbey, Lancer, and Arcola, before moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1933 and then to Montreal, Quebec in 1946.
