Stewart Granger was an English film actor who was hugely popular during the mid-twentieth century. Born in Kensington, West London, Granger rose to fame primarily through his appearances in the Gainsborough melodramas, which were a sequence of films produced by Gainsborough Pictures, a popular British film studio of that time.
