He lived in Reno five years earlier while waiting out a divorce from his first wife in order to marry movie star Monroe, and he and Monroe married immediately after his divorce was finalized (Reno was known as “the divorce capital of the world”, where one could get a “quickie” divorce by living there for a minimum of six weeks).
