Timothy Kevin Story (born March 13, 1970) is an American film director. Born in Los Angeles, California, he attended Westchester High School in Los Angeles with jazz pianist Eric Reed and actresses Regina King and Nia Long. He was senior class president at Westchester High. He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts in 1991.
Story's intensely personal style as a pianist, synthesist and composer developed from years of experimentation in his home studio, and a love of composition. The careful juxtaposition of acoustic instruments with electronic textures, and an inventive approach to composition are common threads running through most of Story's work.
