Theophilus Hastings, 9th Earl of Huntingdon (12 November 1696 – 13 October 1746) was the son of Theophilus Hastings, 7th Earl of Huntingdon and Mary Frances Fowler. Hastings married Lady Selina Shirley , daughter of Washington Shirley, 2nd Earl Ferrers and Mary Levinge, on 3 June 1728.
Earl of Huntingdon is a title which has been created several times in the Peerage of England. The medieval title (1065 creation) was associated with the ruling house of Scotland ( David of Scotland ). The seventh and most recent creation dates to 1529.
A minor of eight years old when he inherited the title, the 9th earl of Huntingdon did not reach his majority until late 1717 and did not take his seat in the House until 20 Mar. 1723. From that time to his last sitting on 31 Jan. 1744 he came to only 168 meetings of the House.

Biography. Birth. Theophilus was the son of Elizabeth Hudson and Henry Hastings. [1] . He was baptised on the 7th of Oct 1728, at Lutterworth, Leicestershire, England. [2] [3] Marriage. Theophilus was married twice first to Sarah Pratt, on the 18th of Oct 1764, at Belton, Leicestershire, England.
